Ralph Thorpe Started this run in 2007 and retired from its planning in 2018. His 11 year commitment to honoring the soldiers that suffered and sacrificed their lives during our past conflicts was infectious and when he retired the members of ALR 196 stepped up and took on the challenge to keep this amazing run honoring the men and women who have been found and returned to the USA for proper burial and military honors. Every name is read off during the ceremony and a red rose is laid in their honor. At the completion of the ceremony 5 ballon’s are released by members of each branch of service: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and coast Guard. Along with a 21 gun salute and the playing of Taps and Amazing Grace.
Committee meetings start in February and are held every 5-6 week s until ride in August. Check our facebook page for upcoming meeting dates and reminders. Meeting dates are also available on the google calendar. Meetings are held at American Legion Post 196 in Brecksville Ohio.
